Cinema 4D Basecamp Week 1 pt1

Hello anyone looking at this blog, Sophie here. Starting off with a new School of Motion course... Cinema 4D Basecamp. Extremely excited to finally be back working with animating and modeling. This week's first lesson was to design your favorite place, and as of earlier this year, my new favorite place in the world is London, England. There is so much charm and life in this city; so much character and history there as well. I knew this would be an ambitious project for me since I'm extremely new at Cinema 4D but I'm really going to try and push myself each project to make things the best I possibly can. I think that's the best way to grow and be a better artist. Anyways, the focal point is supposed to be Big Ben, but now that I'm looking at it again, I think that our eyes are drawn towards the red double-decker bus and telephone booth. Perhaps changing the background color would have helped deter that. I added both of those because firstly, they are immediate pinpoints to London. Whenever someone thinks of London, they think of a double-decker bus and the cute telephone booths that we don't have in America. The second reason I added them was because I wanted this picture to have a bit of depth and to show the scale of Big Ben. I think they turned out extremely cute. Something that somewhat bothers me is that you can see the edge of the River Thames. That's something that I am just going to have to give myself some grace on. Hey, it's my first project out here. I am, however, pretty proud of the detail I was able to put on Big Ben. As it's not perfect to what the iconic clocktower looks like, as a first timer, I tried my best out here and can't wait to further learn and practice some more. See you next project!
